Advertising Code recently introduced by ISAF
Advertising Code recently introduced by ISAF, which allows competitors to carry sponsors advertising at alternative places on Dragons whilst racing at ISAF and non-ISAF events.
To summarise it means that advertiser’s logos may be carried on the hull at the bows, on the main boom, and/or on the backstay. This is something that the Class has been asking for sometime, as it is recognised that bow stickers in particular are often unsatisfactory on the Dragon.
In addition it makes it possible to use the same or different sponsor’s logos in 3 places onboard giving greater visibility or allowing more than one sponsor to place advertising on competing boats.
It is hoped that as a result Dragon events will be become more attractive to more sponsors.
The relevant paragraph in the enclosure is 20.40.1.1 and the exact locations for advertising are defined in Figure 1. Please note that advertising still remains at the discretion of the local Organising Authority.
